Take a look at some of the awesome things Unstoppable Kindness has done so far!

Sack lunch assembly

Every month, Unstoppable Kindness assembles and decorates over 100 sack lunches for the homeless in Seattle. They are then donated to local shelters and food banks, including Mary’s Place and Union Gospel Mission. Over the past 10 years, we have made over 8,500 meals in total and helped show countless young women that they can make a difference.

coat and can drive

Shopping run for 2022 coat and can drive.

Each winter, Unstoppable Kindness holds a coat and can drive, collecting warm clothing items and non-perishable food for those experiencing homelessness in the Seattle area. Thanks to generous donations from our community, we have collected a total of 7,500 warm clothing and food items and donated them to local shelters and food banks. Our team also makes an annual trip to Costco and Value Village to purchase additional items for the drive.

Baby Drive

Our first baby drive was held in 2019, and then continued annually starting in 2023. In total, we have collected over 1,300 infant and kid essentials, including clothes, shoes, toys, games, car seats, hygiene items, and diapers, all donated to WestSide Baby and benefiting countless children and families in need in the Seattle area.

Hygiene packs

Our first hygiene pack assembly took place in 2019, and in total we have assembled and donated 300 hygiene packs for the homeless in Seattle. These packs contain important personal hygiene items, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, mouthwash, feminine hygiene products, and personal protective gear. These packs are donated to Mary’s Place, who gave us the idea for this project by identifying some of their consistently highest need items.

Survival backpacks

We began assembling survival backpacks in 2016, and have donated a total of 300 backpacks to Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission’s Search and Rescue program. Each backpack includes a flashlight, notebook and pen, rain poncho, blanket, water bottle, and warm gloves and socks. We got the idea for this project by researching items that those living in tent encampments might need. We found that the most crucial items are often flashlights and a backpack to carry other items. We also chose to include a reusable water bottle to help reduce waste from plastic water bottles.

This project was introduced in 2018, with a total of 150 baskets donated to Mary's Place locations in the Seattle area. These baskets are then given to new families moving into permanent housing to ‘welcome them home’. Each basket includes laundry detergent, shampoo and conditioner, dish soap, sponges, and paper towels, all assembled in a laundry basket.

school supply backpacks

Our first school supply backpack assembly took place in 2018, and in total we have assembled and donated almost 200 backpacks to local organizations. Each backpack contains a binder, notebooks, pencils, pens, highlighters, glue sticks, a ruler, and scissors, all contained in a school backpack. These backpacks help many students in need in the Seattle and Snoqualmie Valley School Districts start off the school year right.

Our first birthday box assembly was in 2019, and we created and donated 22 birthday boxes for the families at Hope Place in Seattle. Each birthday box is designed for a girl or boy of a certain age in need of a birthday gift, and each box contains something to eat, something to wear, something to read, and something to play with. Our goal with this project was to give young women the opportunity to create personalized gifts to positively impact the lives of children their own age.

holiday card making

The idea for holiday card making originated in 2020 as a way to positively impact our community during the restrictions of the pandemic. Since then, we have created 100 holiday cards for families in need in the Seattle area. These cards were all donated to YWCA in Seattle, along with 60 gift cards to local grocery stores. This project gives our team of young women the chance to reach out and spread holiday spirit in the community.

Volunteering

Unstoppable Kindness volunteers multiple times a year at various local organizations, including Mary’s Place, Union Gospel Mission, and Food Lifeline. Some of our recent volunteer opportunities have included repackaging food at Food Lifeline to be delivered to local food banks and preparing and serving meals to women and children at Hope Place in Seattle.
